RN Night House Supervisor-(Full-Time)

Job Summary: At the direction and control of the CNO, The role of a House Supervisor is to ensure patients have adequate care coverage by coordinating staffing, while monitoring the flow of patients in and out of the hospital.

Reports to: CNO

Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and Licensed in the State of Arkansas as a Registered Nurse.
ACLS preferred but not required
PALS preferred but not required

Experience: Five (5) years’ hospital experience preferred.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in various meetings with such groups to provide pertinent information related to the department operations
  • Supervising nursing staff and their day-to-day duties on behalf of senior management
  • Performing administrative duties, including scheduling nursing staff shifts
  • Expediting issues of concern to senior administrators on call
  • Liaising with patients, family members, and healthcare professionals to ensure quality care
  • Updating records and communicating information to relevant departments
  • Providing nursing staff with clinical instructions, advice, or guidance, when required
  • Directs the development of the department Nurses and Clerks
  • Manages all Nursing personnel, supplies, equipment in the department
  • Promotes teamwork between the medical staff and nursing staff
  • Plans, implements and evaluates delivery of overall quality nursing care
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for patient care within the department and hospital
  • Participates in computerized health information systems
  • Prepares reports for departmental and accounting purposes in a timely manner
  • Maintains nursing competencies
  • Maintains standards required by regulatory entities
  • Overall quality assurance for all departments as requested
  • Facilitates resolution of questions and issues relating to departmental operations
  • Set and monitor achievement of goals and objectives for the Department consistent with MRHS Policy and procedure
  • Actively participate in all special events
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • May be required to work evenings, nights, and/or weekends on a regular or as needed basis
